Kori Suzuki is a journalist & photographer writing about the environment, race and California. A Japanese American journalist and photographer based in San Diego, California, he is a current staff reporter for KPBS, San Diego’s NPR and PBS station. He covers a regional beat in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands, including South San Diego County and the Imperial Valley. His role was originally funded by the California Local News Fellowship and was made permanent in 2025. Kori is a graduate of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. He is especially drawn to stories about how we are all complicated and multidimensional.
