
Hope Davison
Hope Davison is a 2nd/gen Japanese American filmmaker with roots in North Carolina and Tokyo. She is most passionate about working on empathy-driven films that explore intersectionality and reveal human truths through personal eyes. enjoys creative storytelling through the lens of empathy and nuance; much of her work reflects on the uncertainties of life that exist within. In between freelancing, she has done original video and photo work for The Washington Post and The Grand Rapids Press.
She is a co-founder of From Kudzu, a creative video collective exploring Asian American identity in the U.S. South. From Kudzu the film is a recipient of the 2023 DCEFF Vantage Grant and currently in production.
A graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Journalism and Global Studies and a former multimedia specialist intern at MLive/The Grand Rapids Press, she is always down for new opportunities.
Currently based in Tokyo, Japan, as a video producer for Wild Tame Co.
