I recently completed my master’s degree. at Georgetown University’s Graduate School of Art’s and Science, in the Democracy & Governance program. I primarily focus my academics and research on backsliding democracies, misinformation, and security threats in combating with those two, with the hope of pursuing a J.D. and M.A. in security studies in the near future.

Professionally, I work as a freelance visual journalist covering DC politics, primarily the White House and Congress. I regularly attend and cover high-profile hearings and events, such as the State of the Union, and have been doing so for over 3 years in DC. I have also covered a number of natural disasters and protests/riots, and have obtained my license as an EMT in addition to wildland firefighting and HEFAT training.

Due to Covid-19 I was home in Atlanta through Fall 2021 and worked as a full-time photojournalist during that time, focusing initially on the George Floyd Uprising followed by the Presidential and Senate elections; experiencing up close the dangers currently threatening our democracy. From there, I have begun to shift my career towards my direct involvement in protecting democracy both domestically and abroad, and hope to pursue a career in the intersection of securities, intelligence, and protecting/promoting democratic systems.
